Don't worry, be happy

Brit Bunkley

Wednesday 18 August - 12 September

It seems that in every era, no matter how optimistic, the social mood is either mitigated by or closely followed by a period of pessimism and in turn, followed again by optimism. Brit's new images, objects, and video representing apocalyptic paranoia combined with trancelike whimsy look at this idea. A 3D model of Homer Simpson’s nuclear factory is transformed into a winter dreamscape. Emergency vehicles cross over a bridge over a satellite image of the Verdun.

Anarchy in Avondale

Wednesday 21 July

Anarchy is Avondale is another in the series of exhibitions through which the backstory of Cook & Co becomes apparent. Her 2010 exhibition The Queen is Dead, Long live the Queen memorialized the last days of Cook & Co's regal glories, and her upcoming 2011 exhibition in Amsterdam will unveil the reborn identity of her global jewellery company. Whereas Anarchy reflects the angsty, rebellious teenage years of Cook & Co.

Beneath the Blue

Wednesday 23 June

Beneath the Blue… and between the earth and sky. A vision of the future where synthetic materials merge with the natural world, a cross pollination of the organic, the artificial and the romantic.
